Events

This year’s BrightStar Care Annual Conference turned out to be more than a series of sessions and vendor booths. It brought together owners, executives, and partners in an atmosphere that felt both relaxed and purpose-driven.

The energy was genuine. Mixers and casual networking created space for open conversations, while the sense of community made interactions feel more like peer-to-peer exchanges than formal introductions.

What We Heard from BrightStar Leaders

Across the conference floor, a few themes kept coming up in conversation.

  • Quality Assurance (QA) remains a challenge for several agencies. Backlogs in credentialing, documentation, and billing continue to slow down operations and extra pressure on leadership teams.
  • Overnight coverage is still top of mind. Many owners shared how difficult it can be to fill short overnight or weekend shifts and how much they value flexible solutions that can step in when staffing gets tight.
  • And for many, the workload itself is heavy. Owners and Directors of Nursing described juggling recruiting, scheduling, and operations, often with little time left to focus on strategy or long-term improvements.

Taken together, these points highlight a familiar truth: BrightStar agencies excel at care delivery, but the right operational support plays a crucial role in how efficiently they can scale and grow.

The Value of Connection

Beyond the business side, what stood out most was the people. Attendees were warm, approachable, and eager to share what’s working for them. Conversations often turned into storytelling, with people swapping experiences, comparing challenges, and making introductions across territories. For us, it reinforced that BrightStar is as much a community as it is a network of agencies.

Our team brought locally made Philippine chocolates and coffee, simple giveaways that became great icebreakers. Those small gestures opened the door to genuine conversations and reminded us that in healthcare, as in any profession, connection still starts with a human touch.

Different Paths, Shared Goals

Not every conversation focused on immediate staffing needs. Some owners were in a stage of rebuilding or adjusting to new structures, while others were thinking about growth and long-term stability. Hearing those different perspectives side by side was a good reminder that while every agency’s path looks a little different, the goals remain the same: steady operations and excellent patient care.

A Final Reflection

BrightStar Care’s 2025 conference was both energizing and grounding. It offered a closer look at the day-to-day realities agency leaders face and the ways they continue to support one another. Above all, it reminded us that progress in care often starts with something simple: listening to the people who live it every day.
