Mango Mania: Extravaganza of Flavor and Festivities

The 2023 Mango Festival in Guimaras was held from May 18 to 22.  A vibrant celebration that pays homage to the province's thriving mango industry. Recognized as one of the largest mango producers in the Philippines, Guimaras takes pride in its exceptional mangoes.

Preparations for the event usually begin months before the actual festival, encompassing a range of activities. The streets were adorned with lively mango-themed decorations, while artists and designers showcased their mango-inspired artwork and costumes. Stalls and booths were set up, eagerly awaiting the commencement of various events and activities.

The festival's highlights included an indulgent eat-all-you-can buffet, offering visitors an abundance of succulent, ripe mangoes to relish. Participants also had the unique opportunity to partake in mango harvesting, allowing them to pluck their own mangoes straight from the trees. A thrilling cook-off challenge featured local chefs competing to craft the most exquisite mango dish, while a captivating bike race unfolded amidst the province's picturesque countryside. Additionally, a lively street dance competition, inspired by the essence of mangoes, captivated spectators with its vibrant performances.
